  • Description: As part of my " Icons of the London Underground Art Scene" series, this is a portrait of Florence Joelle.
Paris-born, London-based, singer / songwriter Florence Joelle was bred on jazz at home, and on the music of the Paris streets, the Gypsy art of Django Reinhardt, bal musette, and North African rai, Florence started collecting rock’n’roll, and early blues as a girl.
Her music carves out a unique sound that, although deeply rooted in the past, vibrates in the present. Ever socially conscious, her songs depict what happens around her. ’29 Bus Blues’ tells of an assault on a night bus, while ‘The God Of Things’, written during the last London riots, warns of the materialistic world we live in.
Alcohol Inks , waterbased Inks on Yupo Paper mouted on board, 50x70cm
Raffaella Bertolini

I am Italian and been living in London since 1998.I create Psychedelic Pop Art. My main subjects are portraits, I get inspired by the great musicians of the 20th century, “pop Icons", Movies, Artists and anything that catches my attention. I then paint it incorporating the psychedelic element, transforming it into something more personal..it’s like seeing it through a kaleidoscope.
